Trey's Winter Owl card

I'm still in my "whirlwind" of trying to get things done for Christmas.  I finished this wintry card for my grandson today.  He loves owls so I went searching for a way to make a quickie collage style card.  I had a package of paper die cuts from BoBunny Woodland Winter Noteworthy collection that I had planned to use on some project life scrapping.  It had some nice pieces in that worked well for my concept. I think he'll love the card despite that I went a bit blingy and glittery.  It's got a spot for a gift card too :)   This card is 6 x 6".

I don't know why Blogger is being so goofy for uploading photos today. They're all there
just in a weird order which I can't seem to change.

Christmas Gift Cards

I'm starting to get caught up in the whirlwind of last minute Christmas preparations.  I have a couple of gift card holder/cards to show today.  The first one is a cute coffee gift card for my granddaughter Annah who loves her Starbucks.  The coffee lid opens up to reveal the gift card.  Since I already made her a Christmas card this is a card front only which slips into a cute decorated kraft envelope.  The card front is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4

Stamps:   Art Impressions- Coffee Card Keeper,  Hero Arts- Holiday Sayings
Specialty Paper:  Crate Paper Snowy Day

The second gift card holder is for my son-in-law.  I hadn't made his Christmas card yet so I included his gift card within the card.  The gift card holder inside was made on my new Silhouette which I "gifted" myself on black Friday ;) This card is a standard A2 size.

Sierra's Sweet Shoppe Treat Card

When I'm making Christmas cards for my grandchildren I like to add a little gift card holder inside so that it's also a present ;)  This Waltzing Mouse Sweet Shoppe jar was perfect for letting Sierra know that there just might be a "treat" inside of this card.

I used a couple kinds of glitters for this card.  What I like about these is that you really aren't overwhelmed by glitz until you move the card in the light...then you see a pop of sparkle. This card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4"

Stamps:   Waltzing Mouse- Candy Jar Christmas and Candy Jar Christmas Fillers

Be Jolly Snowman

I love "snowies" and the snow people from Serendipity are some of my favorites.  Well I actually have never met a snow man that I didn't like ;) but these are so fun to color.

I pretty much always color my stamped designs before selecting papers to go with.  I must of had that plaid piece of background paper somewhere in my head as it almost matches the snowman's scarf perfectly. This card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4"

Stamps:   Serendipity- Snowman with Birdhouse,  Paper Smooches- Christmas Sampler set

Specialty Paper:   W R Memory Keepers- Yultide 6 x 6,  Graphic 45- Christmas Emporium 8x8, Basic Grey- Eskimo Kisses 6x6

Holly Berry Birdies

This is another of my older Christmas stamps that needed some "love".  I embossed the design on matte black card stock using black pigment ink and clear emboss powder.  I did a double bleaching where I brush over all of the design with bleach...heat with a heat tool...and then just add bleach and reheat areas where I want  highlights.  I added a little red Copic marker on the berries but the rest is Prisma color pencil.

I have been fighting "gloom" to take pictures so this one is a bit washed out due to using an Ott light for a light source. I kept the card design simple as it will be mailed to a relative.

I tried to show the subtle sparkle of the glitter paper I used for a background layer.  These beautiful papers are the kind you would rather hang on to than use but I'm trying to be good and use those things that usually end up just making my paper storage look pretty ;)  This card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4".

Tools:   MFT- Stax Pierced Rectangles,  EK Success heart punches,  misc. snowflake dies

Inks:   Colorbox Black Pigment ink,  Archival Jet Black

Noelle Bearing Gifts

I took a couple of days to relax after Thanksgiving and spent some time coloring.  I love Mo Manning's artistic style.  Every Christmas I make at least one card using one of her rubber stamp designs.  I almost lost this piece as I again did the absolute "no-no" of spraying this with Blair Fixative.  I recolored the important parts like her face, hair, boots etc. I left some of the spray damage so you can see when you enlarge the pics...all the tiny dots of removed color where the spray hit the Copic marker.

It has been snowy, foggy and gloomy here so I apologize for the photos being a bit drab.

When I do this much coloring I tend to leave the card more simple in embellishment.  I really liked using the Joy frame (MFT) I glued the picture behind it.  The card is 5 x 7"
