This is the second card I created this week using challenge ideas at Splitcoast Stampers. This represents the color challenge for this week which included seven color choices. I might actually have most of the colors and then some included in this vase of flowers. I also wanted to point out that I used the same collection of 6 x 6 patterned papers on this card that I used yesterday. This is the only paper collection that I've re-purchased this year as the variety of colors and patterns suits my summer stamping well.

I needed to perk up my creativity so I played along with a couple of challenges on Splitcoast Stampers this week. This one is a sketch challenge. I accidentally cut my focal image down too much but I made it work anyways.

I photographed this card in two different lighting situations so I could pick up the glitter on the card... so sorry for the wonky colors ;)

I found another Sandi Miller collage style stamp in my collection that was begging to be colored. I like the look of these designs embossed in white. I used Distress Inks to watercolor the image. Many people think these inks are rather dark and "grungy" but they are very capable of a summery pastel look. When I made my color chart for Distress Inks I was surprised myself to see what colors emerged when some water was added to the full strength ink.
card size: 5" x 7"
Stamps: Sandi Miller- Pear Collage, Simon Says- Friendship Messages
I haven't made a vintage collage style card for ages. I had a painted embossing folder background that hadn't come out quite like I wanted so I stamped a Tim Holtz image on top of it using Vintage Photo Distress ink. While the ink was wet I went over it with a water dampened/wet paint brush to add a painterly look to the image. I then went on a mission to find some bit and pieces to illustrate a vintage gentleman's dreams.
card size: 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"
Stamps: All of the stamps are Stamper's Anonymous Tim Holtz stamps- the vintage man, the word phrase inside and the star border.
Embellishments: A Flair For Buttons (on Etsy) - Flair Button "I Dream", Basic Grey Basics- Metal Studs Stars, Bo Bunny- Noteworthy Ephemera Somewhere in Time, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Thrift Shop Ephemera pack, K&Co Flora & Fauna Accents (butterflies)
Tools: Craft Concepts- Embossing Folder Star Background
My stamp studio is in our walkout basement. When it's hot outside you can be sure the lower levels of the house will be freezing. I took advantage of a couple of beautiful days when the polar vortex returned to spend some quality time enjoying some creativity while the air-conditioner took a much needed break.
card size: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
I'm still enjoying water color and floral images. There are so many pretty floral designs available this summer. I admit I'm also getting drawn to fall and Christmas already too so we will see what I'm up too in the next few weeks :)
Stamps: Stampendous- Lace Rose Background, WPlus9- Hand Lettered Hello, Impression Obsession- Large Rose
