Vintage Faerie Birthday

I had some time to work on a card this weekend.  Most of my creative time has been dedicated to making quick backgrounds lately.  I find that it helps satisfy my need to play with color when I have other big stuff going on.  There is no pressure to complete something and I do learn a lot from "just" playing.

This card background features the new PaperArtsy Infusions Colored Stains.  They are a granular form of watercolor crystals similar to Brusho...but the granules are one solid color.  I started with just a few colors when I bought them because I thought they were probably "same old same old".  I think the colors in this line are just plain lovely. They also dissolve and blend beautifully.  I'm sure I'll be getting the whole line :)

I sprinkled three different colors randomly on my craft sheet.  I then spritzed the granules with water and dragged watercolor paper through.  I let that absorb for a bit and then picked up some of the remaining tiny drops with a piece of acetate.  I used that to stamp some more color interest onto the background.  Once completely dry I added drips of color from a Prima Color Bloom Spray.  Finally I added Stampendous Fran-tage White Embossing Enamel which I sprinkled here and there.  I heated it to melting from the bottom.  I fussy cut my faerie and adhered to the background after water coloring with Distress Inks.
